New Orleans Hustlers Brass Band

Based in Houston, Tx, the Hustlers Brass Band is the ultimate New Orleans party band. Since 2005 they’ve been kickin’ it hard with a flavor straight from the streets of New Orleans, paying their respects to the unique musical traditions of New Orleans. But the group’s relative youth means their music yields an eclectic set of musical genres incorporating a special blend of R & B, Funk, Gospel Traditional Jazz, Zydeco, Latin and Be-Bop. They will take you on a historical journey through the Cresent City brass band tradition.

The band is acoustic and able to play in almost any setting. From the stages of major festivals to the grand ballrooms of the finest hotels; from paddle wheel riverboats to the streets of the city, the Hustlers have been heard, enjoyed, and danced to by thousands. Whether you desire a large stage band, a parade band, or a smaller intimate band, the Hustlers can provide quality New Orleans entertainment to fit the occasion.

One New Orleans tradition that the Hustlers help to perpetuate is the colorful second-line parade when audiences dance behind the strolling brass band waving handkerchiefs or twirling decorated umbrellas, becoming part of a festive entourage. The grand marshal, clad in a crisp tuxedo, sash, and matching umbrella, leads the band and everybody dances. The band can parade through functions or escort groups to restaurants, riverboats, and other destinations in this great New Orleans style.

One of the beauties of this hard-working crew is that they’re mainstream enough to appeal to fans of true traditional brass bands. Yet the wide range of styles incorporated into one of their live shows finds favor with younger fans as well. Classy and Reliable The band consist of some of New Orleans’ finest musicians and is sure to spice up any event – festivals, clubs, weddings, parades, conventions, birthday parties, crawfish boils, picnics, Mardi Gras parties, school seminars for kids and funerals.
